Conor Daly Biography
Conor James Daly is the son of former Formula One, CART, and IMSA driver Derek Daly, and the stepson of Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Doug Boles. He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 14. Daly appeared on the 30th season of The Amazing Race with fellow IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi, finishing in 4th place. His first cousin, Nicola Daly, is an Ireland women’s field hockey international and works as a data engineer for Juncos Racing.
Early Racing Career
Karting
Conor Daly began karting at the age of 10. In 2006, he won the World Karting Association Grand Nationals.
Skip Barber and Formula Ford
In 2007, Daly transitioned to car racing and began racing full-time in 2008. He competed in the Skip Barber National Championship, where he secured first place with 5 wins out of 14 races, and in Formula Ford.
Star Mazda Championship
In 2009, Daly raced in the Star Mazda Championship for Andersen Racing, finishing third in the points standings with a win at New Jersey Motorsports Park. He returned to the series in 2010 with Juncos Hollinger Racing and won the series championship. During his championship-winning season, he achieved a record of 9 pole positions and 7 wins.
Indy Lights
In 2011, Daly participated part-time in the Indy Lights series with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, achieving his best result with a win at the Grand Prix of Long Beach. He made a one-off return to Indy Lights in 2013 at the Houston race for Team Moore Racing, finishing third.
GP3 Series
Alongside his Indy Lights commitments, Daly competed in GP3 in 2011 with Carlin Motorsport. In 2012, he continued in GP3, driving for the Lotus GP team and securing his maiden win at Barcelona. He remained in GP3 in 2013, racing with ART Grand Prix, where he won at the Valencia Street Circuit and finished third in the championship.
GP2 Series
Daly participated in the 2013 GP2 Series season-opener at Sepang International Circuit with Hilmer Motorsport, scoring two championship points. In 2014, he competed in 18 of 22 rounds with Venezuela GP Lazarus, with a best finish of seventh place at the Hungaroring.
IndyCar Series
Part-time Rides (2013–2015)
Daly made his IndyCar debut in the 2013 Indianapolis 500 for A. J. Foyt Enterprises, finishing 22nd. In 2015, he substituted for Rocky Moran Jr. at the Long Beach GP with Dale Coyne Racing. He also participated in the 2015 Indianapolis 500 with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports but had to retire due to mechanical failure. Daly replaced James Hinchcliffe for 3 rounds, achieving a sixth-place finish at the second race in Detroit.
Full-time with Coyne and Foyt (2016–2017)
In 2016, Daly raced the full IndyCar season for Dale Coyne Racing, achieving his first IndyCar podium with a 2nd place in the first race at Detroit. For the 2017 season, Daly drove the number 4 car for A. J. Foyt Enterprises.
Return to Part-time (2018–2019)
After losing his ride with Foyt in 2018, Daly was signed by Coyne for the 2018 Indianapolis 500. In 2019, he entered the Indianapolis 500 with Andretti Autosport, finishing tenth. He also replaced Max Chilton at Carlin for the Texas Motor Speedway race and drove the remaining oval races, with a best result of 6th place at Gateway. Daly also returned to Andretti Autosport for the season finale.
Split Schedule with Carpenter and Carlin (2020–2021)
In 2020, Daly was signed to contest the road and street circuit races in the No. 20 Ed Carpenter Racing entry and the oval races with Carlin, giving him full-time status. He achieved his first IndyCar Series pole position at Iowa Speedway. In the 2021 Indianapolis 500, Daly led the most laps but finished 13th due to damage.
Full-time with Carpenter (2022–2023)
In 2022, Daly ran full-time in the No. 20 for Ed Carpenter Racing, with a best result of fifth place at the IMS Grand Prix. In June 2023, Ed Carpenter Racing parted ways with Daly.
Racing after Carpenter and Juncos Hollinger Full-time (2024–present)
Conor Daly ran the No. 24 entry for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing with Cusick Motorsports at the 2024 Indianapolis 500, finishing 10th. He then joined Juncos Hollinger Racing for the remainder of the season, achieving his second career IndyCar podium at the first Milwaukee Mile race. In December 2024, Juncos Hollinger Racing announced that Daly would compete full-time for the team during the 2025 IndyCar Series.

Formula One
In May 2012, Daly performed a straight-line aero test for Force India.
MRF Challenge
Daly won the 2012–13 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship in India.
NASCAR
Daly made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Road America in 2018, driving for Roush Fenway Racing. In 2020, he made his NASCAR Truck Series debut with Niece Motorsports at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In 2022, Daly made his Cup Series debut for The Money Team Racing at Charlotte. He made the 2023 Daytona 500 starting lineup and finished 29th.
Daly was born December 15, 1991 in Noblesville, Indiana. He decided to follow on the footsteps of his professional race car driver father, Derek Daly, his mother is Beth Boles –an accomplished jet ski racer.
Conor’s brothers are Colin and Christian Daly. He has a younger half brother Carter Boles –from his mother’s marriage to Doug Boles –president of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

From 2011-2013, Conor competed in the European Formula One support series, GP3. In 2014 he competed in Daytona while in 2015 he made his Verizon Indycar debut. Last year he competed for Dale Coyne Racing.
